This short skit is a hilarious look at how you should never treat your workers in the workplace.

When it comes to the rights of workers, Islam has always been very clear on how they should and shouldn’t be treated. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ always emphasised the importance of looking after those who are under your authority, and the employee is definitely no exception.

Many narrations of the Prophet stress the importance of paying your workers on time, avoiding overburdening them, treating them with respect and of course being lenient when need be.

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him, said,

“Pay the worker his wages before his sweat has dried.”

Sunan Ibn Majah (Sahih)

Jabir bin Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“May Allah have mercy on a person who is lenient when he sells, lenient when he buys, and lenient when he asks for payment.”

When we look at the treatment the Prophet ﷺ showed towards those under his authority, we see he displayed the epitome of gentleness and mercy.

Anas Ibn Malik narrates that “I served the Prophet ﷺ for ten years, and he never said to me,

“Uf” (a minor harsh word denoting impatience) and never blamed me by saying, “Why did you do so or why didn’t you do so?”

Kind and fair treatment, of course, extends to both the employee and employer. It is important that both parties are just in their dealings with one another and uphold the trust that exists between them both.

As Allah mentions in the Quran

“Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants”

Holy Quran 23:8

May Allah allow us to embody the principles of honesty, trustworthiness, and uprightness in the workplace in all our dealings.

Both Ali and Fatima were raised by the beloved Prophet ﷺ and had a special place in his heart. They were married by the Prophet ﷺ then counseled by him. Through their blessed marriage, a community came together and a community remains inspired. They faced obstacles that we all face in our marriage but by the guidance of Allah, the advice of the Prophet ﷺ, and the faith in their hearts, they were able to pull through and leave behind one of the greatest examples of a marriage ever to exist. And in studying this blessed family, we get to see our Prophet ﷺ in a new light: as a loving father, grandfather, and father in law.

John Graham is a specialist in desert farming who has taught hundreds of farmers how to run profitable organic farms. He has 30 years experience creating farms out of arid sand in Mexico's desert region of Baja California, successfully transforming sand into fertile soil to cultivate a large variety of vegetables. He worked for many years as an organic farm inspector and co-founded Baja's organic market that's been running for two decades.

John's home garden is a highly abundant paradise of fruits and vegetables and although he has been in a wheelchair for 25 years after a road accident, he has constructed a system of ramps and paths all around his property so he can access his incredible garden.

John is currently helping a local co-operative of farmers on a new farm producing organic food for the local market, restaurants and a delivery service. @LeafofLifeWorld met up with John to find out about the techniques he uses to transform desert sand into fertile soil, as well the different methods he uses instead of chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.

In this episode, Amin takes a toilet break during his Quran lesson. Upon entering the toilet, he notices a foul smell and slips over a puddle of water. He is transformed into a beach, where he has to fight the toilet paper monster and water monster.

'The Good Muslim' is a new animation series that deals with everyday issues in the Muslim community, such as putting our shoes on the shoe rack, smelling bad in the masjid, struggling with the alarm clock at Fajr, cars blocking other cars at the mosques, etc. The series features the young boy Amin, who deals with these issues in a humorous and creative way.
