This silent comedy features Laurel and Hardy as partners in an electrical goods store, and their neighboring grocer, played by Charlie Hall, mistakenly believes that Ollie (Hardy) is attempting to romance his wife. The film is known for its humorous and chaotic situations, including the escalating confrontations between Laurel and Hardy and their neighbor, as well as the shoplifting subplot that unfolds in their electrical store. "The Second Hundred Years" is a classic example of Laurel and Hardy's early silent film work.

SHOULD MARRIED MEN GO HOME? is a silent comedy film starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. It was released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on September 8, 1928. There's also some behind the scenes footage.

When Laurel visits Hardy at home, hi-jinx occur and the Mrs. orders them out. They go to a golf course where they try to impress two young ladies and wind up in a mud-slinging fight with other golfers.

The location footage was mostly shot by George Mann of the comedic dance act Barto and Mann.

Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, widely known as Charlie Chaplin, was a legendary English actor, comedian, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame during the silent film era. He was born on April 16, 1889, in London, England, and his childhood was marked by poverty and hardship.

Chaplin's career began in the music hall and vaudeville circuits in England, where he developed his skills as a performer. In 1913, he traveled to the United States and soon signed with Keystone Studios, where he created his iconic character, "The Tramp." The Tramp, with his distinctive bowler hat, toothbrush mustache, cane, and distinctive walk, became one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in the history of cinema.

Chaplin's early films, such as "The Kid" (1921) and "The Gold Rush" (1925), were enormous successes, combining humor with social commentary. Despite the advent of sound in cinema, Chaplin continued to produce silent films well into the 1930s, including "City Lights" (1931) and "Modern Times" (1936). His ability to convey emotion and tell a story without spoken words showcased his mastery of visual comedy.

In addition to acting, Chaplin wrote, directed, and composed music for many of his films. His work often tackled social and political issues, making him not only a master of comedy but also a thoughtful and influential artist. However, his outspoken political views, especially during the era of McCarthyism, led to controversy and challenges in his later career.

Chaplin's personal life was also marked by turbulence, including multiple marriages and legal troubles. In 1972, he received an honorary Academy Award for his contributions to the film industry, and in 1975, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him.

Charlie Chaplin passed away on December 25, 1977, in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland. Cette chanson est extraite de l’album, volume 8 de la chorale "Les Enfantastiques", composé de 19 chansons sur le thème des arts et des artistes interprétées par 200 élèves d'écoles élémentaires du Finistère sous la direction artistique de Monsieur Nô.
Ce sont les élèves de la classe de CM1-CM2 de Mme Lourdeau de l'école élémentaire Emile Cloarec de Morlaix et les élèves de CM1-CM2 de Mme Gourvil de l'école Yvonne Forgalvez de Locquirec (29) qui interprètent cette chanson. Ce projet a eu lieu à l’initiative et avec la collaboration de Mme Gwen Gourlaouen et M. Pierre Géréec, Conseillers Pédagogiques en Education Musicale du Finistère, coordonnateurs du projet « Les Arts à travers chants ».
