الكلمة الشائعة لناقل المياه (الصنبور) هي كلمة (الحنفية) عند عموم العرب.. لماذا سمي الصنبور حنفية، عندما ظهر الصنبور لأول مرة أنكرها علماء المذاهب الثلاث الشافعية والمالكية والحنابلة واعتبروه بدعة في الدين.
علماء المذهب الحنفي أحلوها، وأحلوا الوضوء من الصنبور لأنها ترفع المشقة عن المسلمين، هنا سمى الصنبور بـ(لحنفية)، نسبة إلى المذهب الحنفي، وأصبحت كلمة (الحنفية) دالة على الصنبور.
