Muslim religious leaders speak to reporters about events surrounding the circulation of political cartoons in Europe depicting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The original publication in a Danish newspaper and subsequent republication by papers in other countries following initial public outcry had led to sectarian violence and protest against the West is several Islamic countries. Following their remarks, they answer questions from reporters and the audience.

In this recording, we hear from Deedra Abboud (Executive Director Muslim American Society (MAS) in Arizona, Mahdi Bray (Executive Director of the Freedom Foundation in Muslim American Society), Robert Maddox (Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State), Esam Omeish (President of the Muslim American Society (MAS), Don Parker (Spokesman for the Interfaith Alliance), and Ahmed Younis (National Director at the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

The al-Rahman mosque in Orlando, FL, a Muslim Brotherhood owned and operated property, is caught funding terrorism via George Galloway, self-admitted Hamas fundraiser, and Imam Mahdi Bray, public Hamas supporter.

Islamic Faith Based Adviser to former Florida Governor Charlie Crist in 2009 is caught funding terrorism via George Galloway, a self-admitted Hamas fundraiser, and Imam Mahdi Bray, a public Hamas supporter.

Patrick Poole, in a September 2010 column “Charlie Crist’s Ally Hosted Hamas Fundraiser” reported:

A key Muslim ally of Florida Governor and US Senate candidate Charlie Crist, Imam Muhammad Musri, hosted a fundraiser in Orlando for the terrorist group Hamas in June 2009, and a camera crew from ACT for America [and The United West] infiltrated the event held at Masjid Al-Rahman, Musri’s mosque, to record the proceedings. Imam Musri, head of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, serves on Crist’s Faith-Based and Community Advisory Council and was appointed by Crist to his 2010 Sunshine Census Committee.

The Orlando Hamas fundraiser featured as its keynote speakers former UK parliamentarian George Galloway and Mahdi Bray of the Muslim American Society-Freedom, and was intended to raise money for Galloway’s Viva Palestina organization.

That Galloway and Viva Palestina have provided material support for Hamas through the funds they have raised across the U.S. and elsewhere is hardly a secret. In March 2009, Galloway was videotaped by Al-Jazeera giving a duffel bag full of cash to Hamas social minister Ahmad Kurd, who called Galloway “a hero.” Kurd was designated a global terrorist by the U.S. government in August 2007. The al-Rahman mosque in Orlando, FL is a Muslim Brotherhood owned (NAIT) and operated property.

Panel participants talk with reporters about the case of a Muslim in the U.S. who is allegedly wanted by the FBI in connection with the September 11 terrorist attacks. They also answer questions.

The panel includes Imam Motaz al-Hallak, Abdurahman Alamoudi (President, American Muslim Council), Mahdi Bray (Communications Director, Muslim Public Affairs Council), Yaser Bushnaq (President, Solidarity USA), and Attorney Stanley Cohen.

Washington D.C. April 21, 2014 - National civil rights and faith leaders will join the American Muslim Alliance (AMA) for a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 at 9 AM in the Zenger Room.

What: Press Conference on issues of voting rights and voter suppression
When: Thursday, April 24th, 2014 at 9 AM. National Press Club (Zenger Room); 529 14th St NW; Washington, DC

The leaders will express their support for AMA's Voters Rights Initiative entitled: "Lift Every Voice and Vote".

The initiative will:

1.) Nationally increase voter registration, education and mobilization.
2.) Train monitors to protect voters from intimidation at the polls
3.) Advocate that the United States Justice Department continue to investigate states that have passed legislation and policies that suppress the voting rights of African-Americans, minorities, students and the elderly.

AMA's National Director Mahdi Bray stated, "In the 1950's I personally witnessed violent intimidation against my family because they were registering and encouraging African-Americans to vote. To think that in 2014 we are facing, in some states, Neo-Jim Crow voting laws and policy is unconscionable and immoral. People have paid with their lives for the right to vote. We've come too far to go back, thus we are determined to
organize and take our souls to the polls and vote!"

Additionally Bray added, "We will also push for the Congressional passage of the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014."
