So neither is the wave merciful
ولا السفان ذا صبر
And neither is the captain patient against the fierce waves
فيا رباه أرشدني
So oh my lord guide me
إذا ما حرت في أمري

سبيلُ الدّموعِ سبيلٌ مريحْ
অশ্রুর পথ হলো আরামের পথ
تنهّد أيا صاحِ كي تستريحْ
দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলো, হে বন্ধু, যাতে বিশ্রাম নিতে পারো
وبُثّ الدّعاءَ الخفيَّ الصّريحْ
এবং গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে দু'আ করতে থাকো
يسعْكَ الفضاءُ الرَّحيبُ الفسيحْ
প্রশস্ত ও সুপরিসর মহাকাশ তোমাকে ধারণ করে রাখবে
فَبِاللهِ كَمْ تستطبُّ القُروحْ
অতঃপর, আল্লাহর ইচ্ছায় কত জখম সুস্থ হয়
ويبرأُ جُرحُ الكَسيرِ الجريحْ
আর ভাঙ্গা ও আহত আঘাত সুস্থ হয়
وينشطُ ذاكَ السّقيمُ العَلِيلْ
আর ওই অসুস্থ ও পীড়িতরা প্রাণবন্ত হয়
وقد كانَ بالسُّقم دهرٌ طريحْ
অথচ, তারা লম্বা সময় ধরে অসুস্থতায় পতিত ছিল
تقالُ العِثارُ العِظامُ بهِ
এর দ্বারা বড় বড় ভুলগুলি ক্ষমা করা হয়
ويغدو الهوا كَكبشٍ ذبيحْ
মানুষের কামনা বাসনা চলে যায় জবাইকৃত ভেড়ার (উৎসর্গের) মত
بِذكر الإلهِ تطيبُ الحياة
আল্লাহর স্মরণের দ্বারা জীবন সুন্দর হয়
تُسرُّ أساريرَ وجهٍ صبيحْ
উজ্জ্বল মুখের চেহারা আনন্দিত হয়ে ওঠে
تنحّ أيا حزنُ واهجُر فؤاداً
সরে যাও, হে দুঃখ এবং আমার হৃদয়কে ছেড়ে যাও
توكّل بِجدٍّ بعزمٍ فصيحْ
দৃঢ়তা ও খাঁটি একাগ্রতা দ্বারা নির্ভর কর (প্রভুর ওপর)
فإنّي عَلِمتُ بأنّكَ نَجْوى
কারণ আমি জানি, কারণ আমি জানি তুমি গোপনে ফিসফিস কর
ولبسُ خبيثٍ مضلٍّ قبيحْ
এবং তুমি একটি নিকৃষ্ট, খারাপ ও পথভ্রষ্টকারী পরিধান
تبختر ترجّل بصوتٍ وخيلٍ
তুমি গর্ব কর এবং চল তোমার আওয়াজ ও অশ্বারোহী বাহিনী দ্বারা
فمالكَ في الأرضِ دربٌ صحيحْ
কারণ, এই পৃথিবীতে তোমার কোনো সঠিক পথ নেই
إلى الله عُدنا وبالله لُذنا
আল্লাহর দিকে আমরা প্রত্যাবর্তন করলাম এবং আল্লাহর কাছে আমরা আশ্রয় নিলাম
ليُطْوى زمانٌ بئيسٌ شحيحْ
কঠিন (দুর্দশাগ্রস্ত) ও সামান্য জীবনের অতিক্রম করতে
