صحافي وأحد أشهر مقدمي البرامج على الشاشات الفرنسية. من أصول يهودية، هاجر إلى فرنسا في العام 1925 لدراسة الطب لكنّه حصل على شهادة عليا في التجارة. أدّى خدمته العسكرية في "مجلة أرض، جو، بحر" ( Terre-Air-Mer ) حيث تقرب من الصحافيين، فبدأ بالتدرّب على أصول الصحافة. إنضم إلى فريق "راديو هاوس" ( Radio House ) كمعلق ومراسل رياضي. وظهر على الهواء لأول مرة في العام 1965 في نشرة الأخبار المسائية، وبات المعلق الرياضي الرسمي لأحداث كرة القدم في فرنسا. قدّم بعدها برامج رياضية وترفيهية متنقلاً ما بين "تي أف ان" ( TF1 ) و"فرانس 2" ( France 2 ). وذلك قبل أن ينشئ شركته الخاصة للانتاج عام 1985، بينما كان يعمل في "أر تي أل" ( RTL).
أوجد برنامج "مرايا" أسلوباً جديداً أكثر رقيا للحوار المتلفز، ومن خلاله نجح ريكاردو كرم في أن يقدّم لجمهوره حوارات كشفت الكثير عن الحياة الخاصة لأكثر من ٢٠٠ شخصية عربية وعالمية، فحققت أعلى نسب المشاهدة آنذاك، وصار البرنامج محطة ينتظرها كل راغب في التعرّف الى فصول من حياة تلك الشخصيات وكشف ما خفيَ منها.
Michel Drucker, born in 1942 in Vire, is a popular French journalist and TV host. He started a journalistic career in 1965 at the ORTF as sports reporter and commentator. Although he kept doing live coverage of major soccer matches until 1986, he soon turned to hosting variety shows. He is known for his polite and toned-down attitude towards show-business stars, and best-known outside France for the incident between Serge Gainsbourg and American singer Whitney Houston on the television program, Champs-Élysées.
“Maraya” took the basic Arabic talk show to new levels where Ricardo Karam explored the personal life of over 200 important guests while gaining the highest television ratings for a show in this category. Aired during peak time, “Maraya” became essential viewing for those who like to know the real story behind the story.
