This scalars and vectors physics video tutorial explains how to distinguish a scalar quantity from a vector quantity. It gives plenty of examples of scalar quantities and vector quantities. Mass, temperature, volume, distance, and speed are all scalar quantities while velocity, displacement, force, and acceleration are all vector quantities. A scalar quantity has magnitude only while a vector quantity can be described in terms of magnitude and direction.

This video introduces and explains resolving vectors for A Level Physics.
Resolving vectors using trigonometry and SOH-CAH-TOA, resolves a vector into two components. We often resolve a vector into horizontal and vertical components, north and south components or parallel and perpendicular components to a surface.
