December 4, 1986 The funeral of television legend Desi Arnaz. Lucille Ball, Gary Morton, Desi Arnaz Jr., Lucie Arnaz, and Danny Thomas were among the mourners. Lucy told CBS 8 that her former husband was a great showman, musician, father, and husband and he was a great part of the innovation in this business. Danny Thomas spoke at the service and said "I will never ever forget his tremendous help to me, but I speak not just what he did for me, but what he has done for the entire industry."

It was also the first series to create numerous spin-off shows like The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, and Life With Lucy. I Love Lucy to this day can still be seen in 80 countries worldwide in 22 languages.
But even though I Love Lucy continues to be a popular comedy series in syndication, the vast majority of the show's cast members are no longer alive to enjoy the fame and praise that they deserve.
