كما حازوا ذوو الفكر
The experience of the educated
هجرت النوم كي أحظى
I parted from sleep so that I may benefit
بما يحظاه ذو الشعر

إذا ما النوم ناجاني

سمعت الديك في الأثر

تعالى الله تنزيها
Glorifying Allah the most High
ألم تقنعن والفجر؟
Will you not satisfy me and teach me the meanings of Surah al Fajr
فلست الصب إذ يشكو
I am not one to complain
بما في الحب من غدر
In regards to the betrayal of the loved ones
فحب الله لي أولى
As the love of Allah is my utmost priority
وما الإشراك بي يسري
And my heart is empty of associating anyone with Allah
ونجم شق مسراه
The star paved its way in the sky
كما قد الهدى صدري
The way guidance paved its way into my chest
إذا ما الموج صخاب
Whenever you see the waves of the sea battering
ترا السفان في ذعر
You will see the captain ( of the Ship) in fear
ينادي الله إعلانا
Calling upon Allah openly and secretly
لكي ينجو وبالسر
So that he may be saved
فليس الموج ذا رفق
So neither is the wave merciful
ولا السفان ذا صبر
And neither is the captain patient against the fierce waves
فيا رباه أرشدني
So oh my lord guide me
إذا ما حرت في أمري
In those issues of mine which have bewildered me
أرى الأيام تطويني
I see the days pass by me
كأن أدري.. ولا أدري
As though sometimes I know and at other times I do not
وما الدنيا سوى جسر
This world is nothing except a bridge
فذا مهدي وذا قبري
Between my cradle and my grave
فعيب المرء أن يلهى
It’s a error for a man to be fooled
بما في الأرض من كفر

إذا ما قلت لا تفسد

عربيّةٌ، حسبي بأنّكِ منطِقِي وبيانِي
عربيّةُ قلبي وروحي، أحرفي ولِساني (X2)
عربيّةُ، ثمّ الوصوفُ تضيعُ في أوصافكِ
فبكِ استباحَ الشّعرُ يشدو أعذبَ الألحـانِ
يا روعةً سلبت شغافَ القلبِ في ترنيمِها
يا بلسمًا كم طيّبت قلبَ الكسيرِ العاني
في مفرداتكِ هامتِ الأرواحُ حينَ استَعذبت
حرفًا وقولًا صادقًا وفصـاحةً ومعاني
كيفَ المديحُ يجيءُ إن كنتِ التي أعنِي بها
أنتِ البحورُ ومنكِ خيرُ الـدرِّ والمرجانِ
عربيّةٌ، يا ليتَ شعري هَل ستوفي كلمةٌ؟
و لقد نهلنـا فيكِ فقهَ المنهجِ الربّاني!
فالآيُ إذ نتلوهُ نغترفُ السعادةَ والهدى
وفصاحةُ في القولِ فاقتْ فيهِ كلّ بيانِ
أو ليسَ يكفِي أنّكِ شُرّفتِ فخرًا حينما
كنتِ الختامَ وفيكِ أٌنزلَ محكمُ القرآنِ!
عربيّةٌ، حسبي بأنّكِ منطِقي وبياني
عربيّةُ قلبي وروحي، أحرُفي ولساني (X2)
الضّادُ فخري أنّني للضادِ حقًا أنتمي
و بهِ ابتدأتُ قصديتي، و بهِ ختامُ بياني

Arabic language, oh I would that my words were fulfilled ..!
And with it, we have learnt the religion of Allah
And when we just recite a verse from Quran we feel the happiness and the guidance
And its eloquence in speech distinguishers from other languages
Isn't it enough honor to be
And the chosen language of the last revelation (Quran)
