الدولة الإسلامية الوحيدة.. التي لم يستطع المغول السيطرة على شبر واحد من أراضيها، كانت الدولة الخلجية في الهند بقيادة السلطان علاء الدين الخلجي الذي سحق جيوش المغول الجرارة في عدد من المعارك، وقتل قادتهم، وشتت شملهم، كان بعد كل انتصار، يجمع أسرى المغول، ويعدمهم تحت أقدام الفيلة، ويصنع من جماجمهم.. أهراماً كبيرة.. انتقاماً لألاف الضحايا المسلمين الذي قتلهم المغول.
